I am Denise Pulliam, founder of iConversations Social Media. I am an African
American women with thirty plus years of Information Technology experience. I have
worn my hair in many different styles over the years. My hair has been pressed
using a hot comb. I attended upscale hair salons when I used chemical relaxers
on my hair. When I transitioned into natural hair styles my beauticians did a
fabulous job styling my hair into very professional hairstyles that complimented
my professional fashion styles. JPMorgan hired me as an Assistant VP with a six
figure salary. My hair was natural. IBM hired me as global consultant making six
figures. My hair was very natural. My information technology computer skills are
very cutting edge and in high demand. My thoughts and experiences are that if
your skill sets and corporate culture are a good fit and your style is very
professional and polished you can get into really great companies sporting
natural hair. Once you are in, the work environments can be very competitive.
You must learn how to navigate the various terrains you will encounter.
Everything I have learned within corporate environments have been a major plus
in my overall career. I am extremely thankful for the many lessons and more
importantly working with some of the best IT professionals in the country.
